911 operators often need to convey information quickly and concisely to first responders in order to resolve tense situations and save lives. Socian aims to assist operators in gathering and communicating vital information through the use of drones.
Solution
Our solution involved an interface that displayed vital information to the first responders.
Our design placed a key focus on the new information that Socian aims to bring to the table: the live video feed brought by the drones.
We also included other features and information that 911 operators might find useful when relaying information to first responders.
My Contribution
Wireframing:
For this project, I made many contributions to the team when working on collaborative elements, such as the wireframes and documentation.
I prototypepd a low-fidelity wireframe that was ultimately the foundation for the layout of our future designs.
Introspection
What I gained:
Having my sketches directly impact the final design was a huge boost to my self-esteem with this project. It showed me my contributions were valuable.
In this project, I mostly took on the responsibility of designing and rarely did user testing or interviews. I wanted to expand my skillset with my future projects.
